TOURISM DEVELOPMENT: DIVERSIFYING OUR ECONOMY, CELEBRATING OUR CULTURE

Commitment

Our Commitment

The United National Congress (UNC) views Trinidad and Tobago’s Tourism Sector as a dynamic engine for national development. Tourism is more than leisure—it is a catalyst for sustainable employment, international engagement, and cultural pride. Our country’s rich diversity in people, landscapes, and culture offers immense potential. The UNC is committed to unlocking that potential through innovation, investment, and inclusive growth.

Specialise in elective surgeries and recovery services at globally competitive rates. Ensure the facility uplifts performance standards across the health sector. Distinct from public hospitals and focused on attracting an international clientele.
International Cruise

Create an International Cruise Ship Marina

Construct a cruise/marina complex in Plymouth, Tobago.

Include fuel bunkering, shopping, entertainment, and local brand promotion.

Designate Tobago as a duty-free port to stimulate retail and service entrepreneurship.

Tourism

Establish a Carnival City for Year-Round Cultural Tourism

Build a vibrant Carnival City to host:
  • Mas band headquarters and design hubs
  • Calypso tents and performance venues
  • A Carnival Museum Soca-themed nightlife and entertainment district
Enable year-round revenue for cultural entrepreneurs and solidify Trinidad and Tobago as the home of Carnival.

Our Goal – Strengthening The Economy

The UNC plans to significantly increase tourism’s GDP contribution by diversifying offerings, fostering public-private collaboration, and investing in targeted infrastructure. A global marketing and branding campaign will enhance international visibility. This strategy aims to create jobs, celebrate national identity, and strengthen Trinidad and Tobago’s global connections.
